Good architecture matters

Yes, I love a good building, good architecture, thoughtful planning, a friendly user experience, ability to walk around and visit.

I’m talking about good architecture but in this case, it’s web architecture and the website for Houston’s POST.

How do you get people (anywhere from shoppers to brokers) excited about a property? You build a website like this one. I encourage you to visit the site and poke around.

The project itself is amazing and that doesn’t hurt.

From ArchDaily:

Through adaptive reuse and precise interventions, Jason Long and OMA New York have transformed the historic Post Office mail sorting warehouse into a new public destination and cultural venue for Houston, featuring a diverse collection of programs meant to evolve and adapt to the needs of the city.

The 500,000 square foot ( 46,500 square meters) Barbara Jordan Post Office warehouse was built in 1962 and was used by the United States Postal Service (USPS) until 2015. The redevelopment of the site, which broke ground in 2019, saw the opportunity of preserving the massive building and integrating it into the fabric of downtown Houston.

So, yeah, good design matters when it comes to architecture – both digital and analog. And Houston is definitely on my places to visit soon.
